We manage full renovations from planning through the final walkthrough, keeping every trade, material, and decision moving in the right order so the house comes together instead of sitting half-finished.
Most of our renovation clients are living in the home while we work, so we phase the project around your life. We break the work into stages, keep the active zones sealed off, and keep the parts of the house you need day to day usable for as long as possible. You'll always know which room is next and roughly when it comes back to you.
Older New England homes hold surprises, and we plan for them. Knob-and-tube wiring, settled framing, layers of past remodels - we'd rather find those early and deal with them straight than paper over them. When we open a wall and something needs addressing, you hear about it with options, not just a change order.
The work often means changing how a home is laid out, not just refreshing it. On a recent Dover project, we converted an unconditioned three-season room into a fully heated dining space, removed the old exterior wall into the kitchen, and widened the opening to the living room to open up the whole main level - then finished it with shiplap ceilings, custom built-in seating, and tile over radiant-heat floors. Structural changes, mechanical reroutes, and finish carpentry, handled as one project.
A full renovation can run from the studs out - new kitchen, baths, windows, doors, flooring, drywall, lighting, and paint - or focus on the rooms that matter most. We scope it to what you actually want done, track the budget as we go, and keep the surprises out of it.

Interior Finishing & Trim Carpentry
Not every project is a gut renovation. A lot of the work we do is interior finishing - the trim, ceilings, doors, flooring, and built-ins that decide whether a room reads as finished or nearly finished. It's the last ten percent of a job, and it's the part people actually look at every day.
Ceilings are their own category. We hang and finish drywall ceilings, install suspended ceiling grid and acoustical tile where a basement or a commercial-style space calls for it, and replace water-stained or cracked ceilings that have been bothering you for years. Where a ceiling is coming down anyway, it's usually the right moment to deal with insulation, wiring, or a light layout that never worked.
Trim carpentry is where a house stops looking builder-grade. Baseboard, casing, crown, chair rail, wainscot, stair parts, and the interior doors that hang in the middle of all of it - cut tight, fastened properly, and finished so the joints stay closed through a New England winter. Old houses rarely have a square opening in them, and scribing trim to what's actually there is the difference between clean and close enough.
Built-ins are the piece homeowners tend to want most and put off longest. On a Newburyport mudroom, we finished the space with custom built-in bench seating and storage, refinished the ceiling, and set a new exterior door - the kind of project that's small on paper and changes how a family uses the entry every day.
Flooring and drywall round it out. Hardwood, engineered, tile, and luxury vinyl plank; patching, skim coating, and full drywall replacement where a room needs it. If your project is finish work rather than a full renovation, that's a real project to us and we scope it as one.
